The Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Kazakhstan recently announced that the country is taking measures to simplify the visa application and permit approval procedures, in order to further facilitate the entry of investors and business representatives.

It is reported that currently, Kazakhstan has simplified the entry, visa and permit processing procedures for foreign citizens such as investors and business representatives. Investors and entrepreneurs can use specific visa types and enjoy faster approval services as well as project investment support services.

At the same time, foreign citizens engaged in scarce occupations can enjoy simplified entry procedures and related document processing conditions. Among them, the scarce occupations mainly concentrate in fields such as information technology, healthcare, creative industries, and engineering manufacturing, including positions like artificial intelligence engineers, neurosurgeons, graphic designers, and pharmaceutical engineers.

In terms of regional cooperation, citizens of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union can directly seek employment in Kazakhstan without the need to obtain a work permit. Kazakhstan has stated that this mechanism helps enhance the mobility of regional labor force and promotes economic cooperation among member states. Meanwhile, for foreign citizens from non-Eurasian Economic Union countries, Kazakhstan implements an introduction mechanism based on quotas and labor market demand. This mechanism ensures that economic development needs are met while also taking into account the stability of the domestic employment market

The data shows that in 2026, the country's quota for importing foreign labor will be 23,600 people, and the quota for labor immigration will be 221,800 people. So far this year, about 5,100 permits have been issued to professionals in shortage fields, and about 75,000 permits have been issued to labor

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security stated that these series of measures are aimed at further improving the relevant management policies and enhancing the attractiveness to foreign investors and high-level talents.
